Many enthusiasts may be familiar, for example, with Dr. James R. Senft’s MORIYA model version. However, a number of companies built hot air fans commercially: Lake Breeze, to name just one. Many of these fans were similar to current electric fans in that they were portable designs for individual use. They can occasionally be seen in older (or very authentic) movies.
