Dog Breed Name: Yorktese, Morkie, Yorkteses, Morkies, Yorkie & Maltese mix, Yorkshire Terrier and Maltese Hybrid
Description: Wonderful toy breed that makes a perfect lap dog. He loves to sit on your lap, run around the house or garden. He will sleep in your bed. Good for kids and adults alike. Quickly becoming one of the most popular designer breeds in the United States.
Temperament: Playful, loves to be held, gets along well with others. As with all breeds, parental temperament and socialization come into play.
Height, weight: depends on the size of the parents. Typically 3-8 lbs.
Health Issues: No specific health claims or extraordinary illnesses of Morkies have been documented. As will be the case with all dog hybrids, Morkies inherit any number of combinations of the physical and behavioral attributes of the Maltese and the Yorkshire Terrier.
Colors: black and tan, black and gold, black and white, black, tricolor with black, gold and white. It can also be mostly white.
Required Exercise: Most of the required exercise can be obtained in an apartment or home, but they love to play outside and go for a walk.
Life expectancy: 15-18 years
Litter size: 2-4
Grooming: Similar to Yorkie and Maltese. The coat can be long and flowing or you can cut a puppy’s or other hair.
